When we reach her, Antonia Thomas is just about to wrap shooting the third season of the charming, occasionally dirty-minded Misfits (think X-Men reimagined with British high-school delinquents, and you’re there). Thomas stars as Alisha, who gains a strange superpower following a lightning storm: Anyone who touches her is driven mad with desire. Thomas imbues her character with just enough knowing humor to counteract Alisha’s lasciviousness – for proof, see the YouTube clip “Alisha bottle scene,” which has over 50,000 views and should not be seen with parents or co-workers anywhere in the vicinity.

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
When I was really little, I wanted to be a vet and look after animals. But after I was 10, I wanted to act. My dad’s an opera singer, and my sister’s an actress – performing is in my blood.

What’s your most valued possession?
I’ve got loads of valued possessions. I was going to say my phone, which is rubbish. I’ve got some really, really special pieces of jewelry from my mom, like a silver bracelet inset with turquoise stones.

What’s on your IPod right now?
All sorts of stuff – folk music like Johnny Flynn and Laura Marling and Mumford & Sons, but then a bit of Bob Dylan or old-school jazz like Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald. And a lot of Kings of Leon. I love them – I hope they’re not breaking up.

What’s your favorite road trip?
I went to Sicily with my boyfriend and we drove around the island – we saw really, really rustic little towns, with amazing architecutre and beautiful churches. And of course the food was amazing.

Do you have a philosophy that you live by?
If you really want something, you should go for it, but you should be prepared to work really hard.

Who is your IT Girl?
My best friend Marina – she’s amazing and she works really hard. She’s such amazing fun.
